The Resort
Les Gets is a charming traditional French mountain village situated an easy one hour drive from Geneva. It’s a low-key little place; the atmosphere is friendly and fun, with a definite family feel. It’s compact and walkable with a healthy selection of shops, from independent boutiques selling bijou objets and ski shops offering all the latest gear to supermarkets stocking everything you’ll need for a self-catering holiday. Most of the accommodation options are well located in the centre, but for those slightly further out, there’s a regular bus service or a cute little train that does a circle around town, collecting and depositing passengers on the way.
The Skiing
Les Gets is the perfect choice for any intermediate skier. There are endless blue and red runs to choose from. The local ski pass (Morzine/Les Gets) covers an expansive area including Mont Chery, Pointe de Nyon, Pleney, Ranfolly and Chamossiere. For those looking for more challenging slopes the vast Portes du Soleil area lift pass is a must. This covers 14 interconnected ski resorts in France and Switzerland: Morzine, Avoriaz, Chatel, Morgins, Torgon, Les Crosets, Abondance and Champery to name a few.

Après Ski
Les Gets plays host to a good selection of bars. Immediately at the bottom of the piste you’ll find pumping beats and a fun atmosphere at the Bellevue Apreski Bar (they host DJs and live music a couple of times a week). If you’ve already discarded your skiwear, you might head to Le Boomerang for great cocktails and live music, The Black Bear for a lively buzz with pool table, darts and outdoor terrace, Le BarBowling for a fun mix of underground bar with two bowling alleys, pool tables and loud music, or Le Barbylone for regular DJ sets and major sports shown on big screens. If you want to go clubbing, head to the Igloo (the only nightclub in town!). Rock the Piste is an annual festival which hosts gigs all over the Portes du Soleil for a week every March.
