Chamonix, nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc, is for many the Granddaddy of all ski resorts and is certainly one of the most iconic ski destinations in the world, renowned for its dramatic scenery, challenging terrain, and vibrant alpine atmosphere.
Unlike purpose-built resorts, Chamonix is a bustling year-round town that offers access to several separate ski areas, including Les Grands Montets, Brévent-Flégère, and Le Tour, as well as world-famous off-piste descents like the Vallée Blanche. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities can find suitable terrain, but the resort is particularly celebrated for advanced and expert-level freeride and mountaineering opportunities.
