Le Chable

Le Châble is a traditional Swiss village situated at 820 metres in the Valais region, serving as the main gateway to the world-renowned Verbier ski area in the Four Valleys. While the village itself is relatively low in altitude, it offers excellent lift connections via the Verbier gondola directly to the ski slopes above, giving skiers and snowboarders easy access to over 400 km of pistes. Beginners can practice on the gentle lower slopes and take lessons at ski schools, intermediates enjoy long cruising runs across the Verbier and Four Valleys network, and advanced skiers can challenge themselves on steep pistes, off-piste terrain, and freeride zones. Snowboarders also have access to nearby terrain parks and freeride areas. Le Châble provides a more authentic Swiss village atmosphere compared to Verbier, with pretty, narrow streets, traditional chalets, and a quieter, more relaxed environment. Accommodation in the village includes self-catering apartments, small hotels, family-run lodges, and a few boutique chalets, many conveniently located near the lift station or stops for shuttle connections to the slopes. Its lower altitude makes it ideal for visitors who prefer a village base with easier access to amenities, as well as skiing higher up.
