Saas Grund

Saas Grund is a charming alpine village located at 1,559 metres in the Valais region of Switzerland, forming part of the Saas Valley ski area alongside Saas-Fee, Saas-Almagell, and Saas-Balen. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels can find suitable terrain: beginners can take advantage of gentle nursery slopes and ski school areas, intermediates can enjoy well-groomed pistes and scenic cruising runs, and advanced skiers have access to off-piste and freeride terrain. Snowboarders can also access nearby freeride zones, although the terrain parks are more limited than in Saas-Fee. Saas Grund retains a traditional Swiss village atmosphere with wooden chalets and narrow streets, offering a peaceful and authentic alpine experience. Accommodation options include self-catering apartments, cosy chalets, family-run hotels, and small mid-range hotels. The village provides essential amenities, including a few restaurants, cafes, and shops, but remains calm and less crowded than Saas-Fee.
