Like all ski resorts, the chances of finding any really cheap accommodation in Alpbach are pretty rare. However, we’ve tracked down a small handful of properties which offer genuine value for money. They all have a handful of B&B rooms and larger self catering options, and whilst they may not be particularly ritzy, they all offer a simple yet comfortable stay. Many also enjoy a central location, most are family-friendly and they’re all close to, or right beside a ski bus stop. So if you’re budget is tight, try one of these beauties!
For Families
- Gastehaus Gratlspitz provides traditional cosy alpine accommodation with excellent options for families including an apartment and studio with cooking facilities. Plus it’s in a good village location, only two minutes from the ski bus stop.
- Gastehaus Larch is another classic, fuss-free property which has a range of B&B rooms and apartments, the largest of which can accommodate seven, so ideal for families or groups. It’s a seven minute walk to the village centre and the ski bus stops right outside.
- Gastehaus Weiherhof feels quite grown-up with its chic interiors, but guests of all ages are welcome here, and the largest two bedroom apartments can easily accommodate five. A ten minute walk to town, and ski bus access close by.
Central location
- Gastehaus Schneider enjoys a prime position in the village centre. There are four apartments and a studio all done in simple alpine style with plenty of pine; great facilities include kitchenettes with ovens and dishwashers. Great value in an excellent spot.
- Pension Edelweiss is another central pick. It is also a simple, tradition alpine chalet with a handful of B&B rooms and three apartments. It’s a comfortable find in a top location and certainly won’t break the bank.
